Writing a Loss History

Writing a ‘loss history’ helps to identify past losses – even small loss, e.g. losing a ring through a robbery. It’s a tool to work through them.

Find a trusted friend, or talk to God about each loss. It can be very intense, because it will trigger deep and often buried emotions.

If there still is an emotional connection to a loss, if it still affects your life, it means you haven’t processed it.

When you’re still in the phase of: “It still hurts”, more work need to be done.

When you can say, “This loss has happened, but I’m going on,” you’ve reached the right place.
